Nostalgia offers a six-level course that aims at improving learners’ academic skills. The target learners are those who desire to enhance their English language skills to succeed in university coursework or professional workplaces. Learning outcomes are clarified in detail after being enrolled in an appropriate course level based on the students’ language proficiency. The course uses Q: Skills for Success as its main textbook, but tailors the lessons based on the students’ needs. Students can choose to study all the four language skills or to choose between either Reading and Writing, or Listening and Speaking. The environment provided at Nostalgia allows for growth due to its focus on academic progress. The classrooms are quiet and not crowded, i.e., each course accepts no more than 15 students. Students’ language progress is assessed and evaluated both formally and informally during the course. In addition to developing the macro skills, the course targets other essential skills, such as planning, problem solving, critical thinking, and communication.
